Meet the Summit Steering Committee
Elizabeth Akey teaches graduate students in clinical psychology to provide services to children and adults through the Purdue Psychology Treatment and Research Clinics and provides psychological treatment services in West Lafayette, IN. The steering committee benefits from her insights into education, community needs, and principles of psychological treatment.
Jeremy Ashcraft is the North Central Indiana Area Health Education Center (AHEC) regional director. His background in programming and his interest in promoting rural health care inform his work in supporting health education.
Carolyn Kamp provides mental health counseling to north central Indiana residents at Open Arms Counseling, LLC in Lafayette, IN. Her extensive experience in community mental health brings a direct treatment perspective to the mental health summit.
Susan Kersey’s extensive academic and practice backgrounds in psychiatric nursing provide a unique viewpoint to the summit steering committee. She directs the Purdue University School of Nursing psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner training program.
Carol Ott teaches pharmacy students at Purdue University College of Pharmacy and serves patients in a psychiatric medication management role. She is involved in all aspects of psychiatric pharmacy, from statewide leadership to education to direct patient care.
Rebecca Peters serves pediatric patients and families through play therapy at Inner Strength Counseling in West Lafayette, IN. Her specialized training in play therapy along with her substantial experience in community mental health help shape the steering committee.
Jayne Rayman has extensive experience in programming, promotions, and outreach with the Indiana University School of Medicine-West Lafayette. Her local knowledge, organizing and strategic planning skills amplify the steering committee efforts.
Julianne Stout, 2019 Committee Lead. Julianne teaches medical students at the Indiana University School of Medicine- West Lafayette, on the campus of Purdue University. As a combined internal medicine/pediatrics physician, she brings experience from private practice, the VA health system, and university student health to her work as a medical educator and clinician.
